Hi y'all! Earlier this semester I had the opportunity to do an internship at a Personal Injury Law Firm located in Las Vegas, NV. This internship definitely taught me a lot and I do recommend it to others. Firstly, in this internship, to be successful I would argue that you need to be good at time management, be good at writing (both online and on pen and paper), have good organization skills, good communication skills, and be open minded. At this law firm, I assisted quite a lot with drafting legal motions, legal memos, legal letters, court procedures, I assisted with preparing case binders for trials, I assisted with organizing different files, and I assisted each branch of the firm and each team, such as the Litigation Team, Pre-Litigation Team, Front Desk Team, Intake Team, as well as the case managers.
If you are interested in going to law school, or you're just honestly unsure of what you want to do in the future - then do an internship! Starting off at this internship, I knew I wanted to pursue law and go to law school, but I wanted to be in the environment of a law office to see if it is something I'd actually enjoy before devoting myself to applying to law school. Looking back now, I would say that this internship just re-affirmed me in my decision to want to go to law school and continue pursuing the path I'm pursuing. Being able to intern at a law firm is a good opportunity to find out if you want to pursue pre-law in college and law school in the future, it is also a good way to network and make new connections. Regardless if you want to study law or not, Internships like this would benefit you in your career because it helps hone and build your skills in writing, communication, time management, organization - and so much more.

Hello Nour!
I also interned with a law firm, it's interesting to see how much they can vary. I see that your firm did a little bit of everything, whereas my firm specialized in lobbying and adminstrative law. I didn't think I had the chops for interning at a law firm as no one in my family has worked in that field before, did you experience any sort of imposter syndrome like that where you were? I really did feel like the odd one out when everyone else came from lawyers and were already inately intune with the world of this stuff.
Also, it's so cool that your duties and responsibilities were so diverse, they really put you to work! I was under the impression that an intern sat around getting coffee, driving people to the airport, and setting up meetings. Boy was I wrong. They actually included us in every step!
So proud of you Nour. I know this was a challenging semester for you but you did it! You finished and can move on to what's next. Keep swimming!
Nour, I love that this internship helped cement your goals for you--that's how I felt about mine, too. We had a lot of opportunities to connect this semester and I know we talked a lot about some of the ways our experiences were alike. I think it's awesome that you figured out how to get as much as you could out of this experience, and I'm really looking forward to seeing what you do next--I know it's going to be amazing!
