My internship this summer at Freedom Law Firm was a great experience, and I learned tons. This internship benefited my career in a few ways. First, the firm's overall business process was immensely involved, and took basically the whole summer to understand. This made me realize that the detailed processes and forms within a business are unique, and a professional (in any profession) must come to work each and everyday ready to be fully immersed in the business needs. The second thing that I believe that will benefit me for a future in communication. By listening in on the paralegal's and attorney's meetings / conversations, I've realized that there language is clear, concise, and honest. It was refreshing to hear. Other than a positive attitude and some computer / reading skills, there isn't much education required to succeed in this internship. This summer taught me so much about the legal field, yet I'm conflicted as to if I want to pursue law. There are many pros and cons, and I feel I need more time to decide. In order to be an attorney, I'd have to go to law school. To the incoming interns, have a positive mindset and don't be afraid to ask for help!
