This was a great semester, exciting and nerve-wracking. Exciting because I met a lot of people who made this semester fun. Nerve-wracking because I am graduating. The internship was a big part of my semester. I was really excited to work in a law firm, it was kind of like a dream. I think the experiences I gained through this law firm were invaluable. I want to be a lawyer, but I have never been in a law firm let alone work in one. This internship allowed me to learn what it is like to work in a law firm. The best part of working in this law firm was that no prior knowledge was required. I was there to learn and absorb everything. But having some prior knowledge wouldn’t hurt. There were some procedural or technical tasks like making appointments or uploading documents in the system. If I had prior knowledge about these things my training period would’ve been a lot shorter. And then I would have been able to focus on the real stuff like making litigation drafts. Anyways, working in this firm made me really want to be a lawyer. I feel like this is something that I will enjoy doing in the future. Like this is my place in the world. The environment was professional but also casual at the same time. Right now, it is possible for me to acquire a part-time position here. But if I had to secure a full-time position here, I would need several things. If I wanted to be an in this firm, I would obviously need a law degree. But I don’t think I would have that much experience. But if wanted to be a legal assistant, for example, a bachelor’s degree would’ve sufficed. One piece of advice I would leave is that treat this internship as a job. Working at a law firm means being professional. Treating it as a job will show that you are interested to learn and want to be a vital part of the working force. The picture is with one of my co-workers at the firm. Her name is Ray and she had a mug on her desk that said "I am a ray of sunshine." Everyone in this firm was as brilliant and wonderful as she is. I was really lucky to have the opportunity to work here.
