My internship at Freedom law firm was very beneficial for my future career. This internship furthered my interest in the legal field and showed me what I wanted to do in the field. This will benefit my future career because now I have the knowledge and skills I need to thrive in an office job like this. My major is Political science so I would say it does tie into my major of study as Most of my classes have an emphasis with pre law. I already had experience as a legal assistant prior to this internship so I feel like I had the skills and the experience I need to thrive in this internship. From this internship I found that I was not interested in bankruptcy as well as litigation and I know that I want to do something different in the legal field. I need proficient writing skills in order to get a full time job in this position as well as a bachelor's degree and a law degree if I want to become a lawyer. I’d also say that I need great communication skills and years worth of experience. My piece of advice is to listen very carefully when learning or when being trained on the position. I missed a couple of pieces in the training and it would have been really helpful if I listened to everything. Ultimately, this internship experience was very helpful in determining what I wanted to do in the legal field.
