From my perspective, the semester I interned at Spicy Tuna was the most helpful semester I had in college since it provided me with real-world experience that had a significant impact on my whole education. Internships have given me tremendous respect for the often-overlooked labor that goes into making a delicious dinner.
Depending on the restaurant where you work, it is easy to lose interest in cooking. Today, I'm doing just that, but I'm eating well. Although you may believe you are up to the task, it is possible that this is not your calling. I got into the industry for several reasons, one being an introvert, I enjoyed working behind the scenes as a magician.
Recently, I have not felt at ease in this environment, and I am beginning to doubt my role in the sector. After some thinking, I decided to investigate my beginnings, asking myself why and how I got here. The answer is simple: I enjoy eating and eating with others. I realized I didn't need to be in the kitchen to finish this task. There are several ways to achieve my goals. My time at Spicy Tuna has given me opportunities in front of the house, food styling, catering, and food blogging.
Despite the difficulties, I realized that this restaurant internship had given me the most clarity I'd had in years. Despite being a childhood fantasy, I understood that excellent dining was not for me. When I finish my studies in Multidisciplinary Studies in Hospitality Management, I will be able to pursue new chances with the confidence that I will find my professional specialty.
Finally, we were told in college that the internship would be challenging but that we had the means to prepare for it. While this is correct, my internship experience has been very different from what I learned in school. I work four days a week in a challenging environment where I sprint all day. I mean everything, including setup, maintenance, and teardown. It would be best if you kept going, forcing yourself to try everything, dine out, and learn about the chef's lifestyle. To get to his level, you must pass the exam after the test while mentally pushing yourself to be better, faster, more efficient, and more accurate.
