My experience as a copyright intern at Higbee & Associates has been wonderful. I'm getting what I was looking for when applying for this internship: a deeper look into the workings of a law office. I'm getting first-hand access to the preliminary civil process with clients from all over the country. My classes on the judicial process helped me understand the impact and pathway for the cases I was preparing. This has reinforced my decision to pursue law and also pushed me to study business more in-depth. Law firms are businesses like any other and require some savvy in order to get ahead of the competition. If I had to give advice to incoming interns it would be to always read the notes for the cases. There are interesting interactions that take place in the correspondence emails to copyright infringers.
