My internship at Wooldridge Law has been absolutely great. They have allowed me a great hands on experience to fully grasp the idea of what it is like to be an attorney. Whether it be preparation for trial or going to hearings, I now understand the day to day tasks that I would need to do. Political science at UNLV has taught me a lot as well, such as theory used in law and the workings of the United States system. I am still really interested in this career choice after college because working with clients is such a big component to guarantee customer satisfaction, something that I find is important and is highlighted in this role. I always want to be engaged with people and help others so an attorney is a great way to do so. I, however, would need to gain a lot more skills - I think I lack knowledge in the court system in general, so I am still working on that, and I of course would need to pursue law school to learn the nuances. Along with this, I will need to put up with extra hours - I know my head attorney puts a lot of work in at home which can take time away with family, but sometimes that is a necessity in this position. A big piece of advice that I recommend is to not expect to be perfect - especially in a profession that is so detail-oriented, it is important to use each experience as a lesson to grow and perfect for the next one.
