I am so grateful to have found this program. Prior to receiving the email, I was mentally struggling trying to meet new female friends especially being from a different state.

The COLA Women's Empowerment program has been one of the most enriching journeys I have embarked on. The program's workshops not only offered an opportunity to reflect on our voice, determination, boldness, sisterhood, and resilience but what areas, in particular, can we improve upon.

It can be intimidating and scary when starting something new where you do not know anyone. That was how I felt when I approached the doors on the first day of this workshop. As a non-traditional student as well as being a transfer student, I felt quite taut to open up and be vulnerable with my peers.

During the Women’s Empowerment Workshop I thought about values like voice, boldness and sisterhood and how they relate to me.

Woman’s Empowerment is the place where I came to relearn that all us strong independent women matter. I’ve learned here that my voice really matters and is powerful. I Have a say in anything I want to achieve and will be able to accomplish anything with the power of my voice. I relearned the meaning of Determination.

Participating in the COLA Women’s Empowerment Program was one of the highlights of this semester for me! I gained so much valuable information and insightful advice from the Warrior Queen Action Kit, our Peer Mentors and our guest speakers.

I have learned lots from the women’s empowerment program. Things I have learned are how to work on my self-confidence and relationships and not to have imposter syndrome.

The women's empowerment program by Swati Bhise at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV), was a great platform and a big opportunity of which I was very grateful to have been part of in its first year (out of many to come) of being implemented. This program provided a platform in which women and women identifying students gained an insight and were able to evaluate our stances in both our lives and society.

Joining The Women's Empowerment Workshop was possibly one of the greatest decisions I had ever made. From the very first workshop when we spoke about imposter syndrome, I felt a connection with everyone in the room. To learn that it's so common and that I'm not alone made me feel...comforted in a way.

The Women’s Empowerment Program was truly a wonderful experience. It was a very welcoming environment, surrounded by women of all different backgrounds striving for the same goals.

When beginning the Women’s Empowerment program I came in being interested solely in the scholarship if we’re being honest. However this was a program that went above and beyond what I could have expected and I would have never thought to have came out learning the things I did along with the confidence I grew thanks to those involved.

This program is an opportunity to join a community and share your experience with others on being a college student, finding a career and trying to grow as an individual. Through participating in this program I was able to meet others who have are on the same journey as me in trying to become the best versions of ourselves.

I had gone to three of the workshops, boldness, sisterhood, and resilience. I started going because a friend told me about it. This experience helped me understand that I am not alone. We talked about what part in life we need to work on and there are many similarities between all of us. We are worried about not being able to do everything we can to succeed in life. We also talked about the strength

What I've learned through this workshop on women's empowerment is about the 5 words Voice, Determination, Boldness, Sisterhood, and Resilience. Starting with the voice, we talked about how in our society our voice is mostly shadowed by men or how we jinx ourselves that we as women don't deserve the same things as a man can have.

This semester has been pivotal for my growth as a woman. I have learned to worship my emotions and not suppress them.

In 4th grade, I began writing stories that turned into a decade long passion of expressing myself through the art of writing. I found my voice this way because I was shy and was not able to express how I felt through speaking. Little did I know, I would spend the next decade trying to find my voice in the chaos of our world.
