Since I began my internship with the Nevada Democratic Senate, it has been an incredible journey. As an operations intern, I've immersed myself in the preparations for the upcoming elections, helping to organize and streamline activities. The political environment here in Las Vegas is vibrant, and everyone around me is experienced and supportive, the caucus has been providing me with invaluable insights into the political process. This internship has also given me the chance to meet numerous politicians, which has been both inspiring and educational.
My role has involved working on projects that required me to dive into the Nevada Revised Statutes—this has directly enriched my knowledge and will undoubtedly benefit me when I attend law school. Additionally, I've learned the basics of fundraising, organizing, and campaigning. With the primary elections just around the corner, our efforts have ramped up, and we are now actively organizing canvassing events and phone banks.
This hands-on experience has also paved the way for further responsibilities. I am currently undergoing training to step into the role of campaign manager for a state senator once this semester ends. This opportunity to potentially manage a campaign is something I look forward to with great enthusiasm.
Reflecting on these past months, I am sincerely thankful for deciding to take this internship. It has been incredibly rewarding, offering me a practical foundation in politics and a significant step towards my career goals in the Democratic Party and beyond.
