I had the privilege this Spring to intern at the Calm Clinic as a wellness coach. Interning here really exposed me to the importance of networking and deepened my knowledge of various treatments for depression. This has benefited me and equipped me with options I can talk to patients about and possibly refer them to calm clinic and how to network. I don't think any previous knowledge is needed to intern here as they teach you so many helpful tools including working with EHR platforms and how to read a provider's schedule. There were various Physician assistants who were also willing to teach about how ketamine therapy helps and what putting a prescription in for a client would look like. Interning here really made me want to pursue being a therapist because it allowed a hybrid environment that I didn't think I was a fan of however, I feel it would offer a great work-life balance. I also liked how they were big on breaking down stigma and all the providers could rely on each other as well. If one chooses to pursue such a field, one should definitely learn to be patient and kind. One would also need to emotionally prepare and work on self-care. Networking and understanding how to work a scheduling platform would also be needed to work full-time here. For incoming interns, I would tell them that they are in a good environment and don't be afraid to ask anyone for help! All the providers are willing to help and learn as much as you can! Enjoy the process and watch videos about their ketamine therapy and TMS options because it will greatly benefit you and can help calm patients coming in for their first appointment. Unfortunately, I did not get any pictures at my internship, but I did find a picture of some of the offices via yelp!
