Being a part of an internship this semester has benefited me in more ways than just my future career. It has taught me to be more open minded to different ways of loving myself and others around me. Career wise, it has taught me the importance of communication. People from all walks of life have different ways of communicating, and I learned how to navigate in situations of miscommunication. I feel that this is a necessity in working with people. Unfortunately, this internship did not tie into my major of study. I chose to apply for this one because of a secondary interest in a different career path other than the one for my major. Although this internship was not specific to my major of study, it will benefit my future plans. There weren't any educational requirements necessary to be successful in this internship. We had different team meetings and training sessions with instructions on how to do certain things and/or how to navigate the different systems the foundation used. I am still very interested in this career field after completing this internship. It was very interesting to see how teams with completely different goals join together to create an efficient work environment. I’m still headed on the same path and this internship opened my eyes to the many possibilities there are in regard to marketing. If I choose to secure a full-time position in this field, I would need training in whatever systems they use for managing their social media platforms. The one piece of advice I’d share for incoming interns would be to have an open mind. If they’re asked to do something that wasn’t originally part of their “duties”, I’d say to just go with the flow because they might end up liking it after all. The attached photo is from an event that the foundation was invited to be a part of.

Love your comment of staying open minded- because you might end up liking it! Great job!
