My experience at my internship will benefit my future career because I got a glimpse of how businesses operate day to day. My internship has some relevance to my major of study because it is at a business, but it was different for me because it isn’t the type of business that I plan to create. I do feel like it still helped me because, from an educational standpoint, I was able to learn how networking and critical thinking are important in any business. I am still interested in a business career, but I learned that this type of business is not a particular path I am interested in. It was a great experience and I admire the vision of the business, but I feel that I would be better suited in another type of business. To succeed in this form of business, it is very important to be able to work with a detailed budget for money that the business has received from donations, sponsors, or money that was contributed by the business owner. It is best to be knowledgeable of your state laws and regulations. Being able to stay calm but firm when dealing with difficult clients or donors is very important to be able to maintain a business. I think for incoming interns, it can be a little bit of a learning curve because many office tasks can be tedious but are necessary to complete a business project. Being able to keep an organized schedule will help tremendously.
I'm glad you still learned a lot from your experience, even if it wasn't exactly what you expected! Says a lot about your mentality and willingness to learn! Great job!
