Hello, my name is Renee Mohlhenrich. I was a Development and Stewardship Intern at American Red Cross. The position was remote as most of their operations were still virtual. The requirements needed were the ability to communicate effectively, knowledge of excel, and basic knowledge of Customer Relationship Management systems. My primary role included learning the process of stewardship and development where I got to experience speaking with donors and thanking them for their contributions. It was a very rewarding experience. I was involved in various other data entry projects and became proficient in using Salesforce and PowerBI which are both software programs used by other organizations and businesses. I was also involved in planning a Tiffany Circle event that consists of all-women philanthropists who exemplify the mission of the American Red Cross. I thoroughly enjoyed every project and learned so much through this internship.
My degree in psychology has tied into this internship very well, as it helped create a solid foundation for providing valuable services for those in need. I hope to gain more experience and secure a position working for American Red Cross. I was able to witness the amazing efforts through philanthropy and want to be a part of it.
I have enjoyed my time with American Red Cross and will continue to volunteer with them. There are so many ways this organization gives back to local communities and beyond. This includes Helping America’s Military Families, Lifesaving Biomedical Services, Health and Safety Services and Training, and International Services. There are endless opportunities to learn and get involved. I thank The American Red Cross and UNLV for providing the opportunity to help serve my community.

Hi Renee I've always wondered what the inner workings of the Red Cross would be like. Especially with how renound they are with their involvement in the community. I'm glad you were able to apply past experiences and skills to an internship you enjoy. I never knew that the donors were in direct contact with the Red Cross. Seems like such a good thing given they have given something to potentially someone else.
