Within my time in COLA 402 and my internship at climate action Nevada, the material and lessons I have been exposed to has sharpened my skills as if I were already fulfilling my goal of understanding, and repairing environmental policy. Both have show me the work load, the content, and skills that I already have from years of school and skills that I still must work on. Examples include how much I have learned how environmental politics touches everyone’s lives and many aspects such as government functions, health, agriculture, geography, economics and civil rights. And taking COLA 402 has allowed me to understand how I can become a professional within my field by guiding me how I can learn within each category mentioned to further enhance my expertise. There certain aspects I enjoyed about my internship and some that was not the greatest nonetheless I am glad I went through with it. It has also been interesting to the rest of my class mates within the discussion post talking about how passionate they are about their job and skills needed to obtain their goals, each one of them have amazing standards and a desire to reach their goals and I am sure they will reach theirs as well. This semester reassured my desire to continue my education further and communicate with my community to get there. I would strongly recommend others that think about taking an internship to simply pick one that peeks their interest that way they can learn and think about what they did or did not like about it, and use that knowledge to carve their into whatever they want. The image attached was taken from an in person event where as an organization with volunteers, we cleaned up the entrance trail at the Tule Springs Fossil Beds National Monument from an invasive plant species that harms wildlife, other plants and residents in the area with its thrones and debris that gets collected in the air.
