My internship has benefited my future career by opening my eyes and setting them onto something I want for my life. Throughout my first few years of college, It felt as if I was walking around aimlessly trying to follow in my older sibling's footsteps trying to emulate their success and not create my own. Through this internship, it helped me understand my path to success. This Internship will future benefit me throughout my life from all of the connections I have made in the museum field. I myself am a History Major, focusing more on people rather than nature and animals but I was a Marketing Intern, creating graphics for social media, looking at the data behind our social media, and bringing in people that are excited to learn more about history. This internship was on the other side of my field of knowledge but it was incredibly valuable. One piece of advice I have for incoming interns is to not be afraid of the entire process. When I started looking into the program as a freshman, I was horrified because of the fact that Internships seemed so out of reach for me, It never seemed like I would ever get the chance to intern for an organization or business in college without having any sort of insider connection. It also seemed like it would be incredibly intimidating to meet all these people or even have them remember your name. Oh was I wrong, Everybody I met at my Internship was absolutely wonderful and amazing to me, They all genuinely wanted to get to know me as a person, and once it was over and finished they all congratulated me on moving onto bigger and brighter things. I would not want to change my first internship experience.

I love your insight to not be overwhelmed by the process and just going for it! Really great advice.
I'm glad you had a positive experience overall!
