First off, let me just say this internship has been so much fun, and I have met so many amazing people along the way. I have learned so much, and this will be something I reflect on for the rest of my lfie. This internship has benefitted my career in a lot of different ways. Mostly, it has showed me how an actual Psychology Clinic operates, and everything it takes to run one and how much work these providers put in. It has shown me how important it is that people have access to treatment and can afford it, and what I need to do to help people and be successful in this career. This is how it will also continue to benefit my career, as I have met plenty of doctors and have expanded my network tenfold. My internship does tie into my major, as I am majoring in Psychology, and this is a Psychiatric Clinic. I do not think you need that much education beforehand going into this, as long as you are ready to listen and know a little bit of how a computer operates, you should be totally fine! I am still interested in this career, probably even more than before because of this internship. I just saw how much the patients were actually benefitting from the various treatments we provice, and I also want to continue to explore and be able to go into depth about each treatment and how it helps. To secure a full-position, you would either need to have prior experience in TMS treatment, or to be a Physicians Assistant, or to get your doctorate and become a Psychologist/Psychiatrist. Some prior experience would also help, or to be majoring in it, but it isn't exactly necessary. If I had any advice to give to any future interns here, it would be to just listen, and be ready to learn! It is a lot of information to process at first, and can be overwhelming, so just make sure you take everything one thing at a time!

I'm so glad that you overall had a great experience! I love that you describe it as fun, that's wonderful!
Hi Caeden!
I'm so glad you had such fun at your internship; it sounds like you had a fantastic experience. It's great that you got exposure to how a Psychology Clinical operates and the work providers must put into it. I find it so cool that you were able to meet doctors, and expanding your network is such a great thing, especially in this field, because you never know the opportunities that can come from those connections, and you can progress in your career much faster. Having all this exposure and seeing the benefits to the patients is such a fantastic opportunity, and you can see what you could be getting into in your future career. I think, specifically in the psychological industry, the experience, people, and time you've had at the Calm Clinic is fantastic, and you're fortunate that you've been able to have the exposure that you do. It's hard to gain a lot of psychological experience since they have to be trained most of the time to treat patients, and you have that first-hand experience is incredible. This opportunity was great for you, especially because you want to go into psychology; I'm so glad you learned so much and can take this knowledge with you for your future.
Hey there Caeden,
I enjoyed reading your blog post, it was very thoughtful and well written! It was great to read off the bat that you have met people you get along with and share the same interests with, connections are so important and can teach you so much! You never know where your next opportunity will come from. Getting to experience the ins and outs of a psychology clinic first-hand, the way you have, must have been so helpful and given you insight to what it would be like to work as a psychologist as your career; I’m a little jealous haha! I think it’s great you didn’t really need any previous knowledge, that means your internship did a great job of training you guys and answering questions. I think this is a very important trait for a healthy and successful workplace. Overall it sounds like you had a great experience Caeden and learned a lot, great job! I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!
Sincerely,
Madison Grant
Hi Caeden,
It sounds like an amazing experience you had! Internships are such an amazing way to grow as a professional and get used to the world before graduation. It allows us to expand our skills and experience as we also learn about what we like and what we don't like! I think your blog post reflects an amazing experience and beneficial result of the internship you had! Internships can also help you learn how to think quick on your feet and learn fast, which it seems you did throughout your internship!
I'm glad you have enjoyed your internship. I can most relate to how much my network has increased while at my internship because I have met plenty of people who I have learned a lot from and have been able to help me. I believe that there are plenty of people who could benefit from mental health services so I am glad you are out there helping people receive that help.
