This Spring semester I was an intern with the Save Ancient Studies Alliance, where I learned many new skills that will greatly benefit my career path in the future. I learned how to work with a small group of people from all over the world. This will be very helpful in the future as I will be able to collaborate with others smoothly. I also learned how to organize and formulate datasets and how to create a Wix page for such data. These skills are beneficial for my current degree as a History major because there are many job opportunities in non-profit organizations such as SASA and many of these organizations present their historical research through online media. I think having some knowledge of web design before entering into this internship would be very helpful for incoming interns, as I did not have this knowledge before and I had to navigate a completely new skill. After completing this internship I would be interested in a career similar to it but I would try to find a position that is not so data intensive but rather research-centered. In order to get such a position, I will continue my education and complete both my bachelor's and master's in history. Some advice I would give to incoming interns is to stay on top of their work and spread out their hours of work throughout the week. I would also tell interns to not be scared to learn a new skill but to be grateful that you have the opportunity to learn from someone educated in that skill or field.
