Since the start of my internship at Indigenous AF, I've felt incredibly welcomed and supported; everyone from the internship leaders to the other interns has been very kind and very receptive of my ideas. There weren't a lot of educational requirements needed to be successful in this internship besides basic people skills, as everything is taught with great care, and I never had to be afraid to ask a question. If you'd like to work in a non-profit organization while learning to develop better communication skills in the corporate world, I'd highly recommend this internship to benefit your future career. While each intern had their own tasks, I was centered on social media creation, which was a skill I wasn't too strong in; however, A.B., Fawn, and Sapira were all very supportive and encouraging of all my ideas and always had helpful insight. Although this internship opened me to a whole new world of the inner workings of a non-profit organization, I will not be pursuing a career in this field as it does not line up with the career path my parents have put me on to eventually take over the family business. However, if you'd like to learn new skills in event planning, donation coordination, and social media creation in a nurturing and supportive environment, then Indigenous AF is the internship I'd wholeheartedly recommend.
