This internship has been able to teach me a lot and it has also helped me develop a lot of new relationships. In my opinion, it will benefit me a lot when it is time to begin my career. My career goal is to become a school psychologist and my internship took place at a middle school and we worked with students and parents, which is good practice. I would say that my internship does tie into my major, which is psychology. As a psychology major, I have learned ways to study people’s behaviors and I was able to put that to use at my internship. For example, there is this one student who is really quiet and usually stays to herself, but one day I noticed that she seemed a little off, a little quieter than usual. I was able to speak with her directly and pull her out of the classroom to talk to her, and that was when I was able to find out that she was having personal problems at home. An educational requirement I believe is needed in order to be successful in this internship is maybe a communications class, since there is a lot of talking and presentations that you have to do. I am still interested in my career after completing my internship because I enjoyed the environment of working at a school and around students knowing that they appreciate your help. In order to secure a full-time position in this field, I would like to gain more education and skills that have to do with working with students. A piece of advice that I have for upcoming interns is to enjoy the experience because time goes by fast, and your internship will be over before you know it.

Excellent job! I'm glad it was such a good experience for you!
