This Spring I was lucky enough to be able to participate in the internship program. I was a part of the Las Vegas Natural History Museum collections department. This part of the museum deals a lot with donated taxidermy or any artifacts that are found in Nevada. I saw everything from representational animals, taxidermy, artifacts, art, and even photographs. Most of the time I was in charge of my own project. I was tasked with the repackage, labeling, data inputting, and photographing of artifacts found in Nevada. The handling of artifacts in that kind of setting was new to me but I had fun figuring things out. Photography was something i definitely did not know of but after trial and error I

was able to figure out a way to get a good result. also got to see how the taxidermy gets maintained and stored for potential future exhibits. It may not have been directly related to my future career but I was able to gain a new experience. Perhaps I will consider working in such welcoming environment in the future.
I also interned at the Las Vegas Natural History Museum! It also was not related to my future career, but the experience was very fun! As it was definitely a new type of internship in a different field for me. I would sometimes see the taxidermized animals being moved around, so I would sometimes end up being surprised at their sudden appearances in places. Turning around a corner to see and nearly crash into a giant taxidermy can really be startling.
