I've had such a heartwarming experience during my internship, which has benefited my future career. I have worked at many other places, but this is the first time I have had such a great supervisor. She is genuine, caring, and supportive, which has taught me where I would like to work in the future and what type of people I would like to work with. I want to work where I feel appreciated, comfortable, and safe and where I can keep growing. Building a good relationship with coworkers is essential, primarily through tough times. My internship did not tie to my major of study, and at first, I chose the organization because it was close to me or easily accessible. However, as time went on, I grew to love it. I also did not know anything about the military, but I have learned much about their benefits and the diversity of available jobs. Additionally, educational requirements did apply to join the organization as an intern through my scholarship program. Although my internship at the USO was a great experience, I have decided to pursue a career outside the organization. While I appreciate all the USO does and the wonderful people I worked with, I am looking for something different to further my personal and professional growth. In addition to being able to qualify, having a high school education or a degree, communicating effectively, carrying and lifting things, and being on your feet all day is essential for the center operations job. The ability to have meetings, discuss ways to improve the USO, and give presentations to inform others about the USO is also essential. Please visit the USO's website, uso.org, to learn more about what the USO does and what volunteers do. Knowing this information is vital when talking to others about the USO. I also urge you to become an effective volunteer when help is needed, have an open mind, be positive, and network.
