Duties: Our internship site aims to provide:
Hands-on experience organizing in Black and underserved communities.
Opportunities to learn how to build rapport and have conversations with community members, policy makers, partner organizations, and grassroots organizers.
Opportunities to build and maintain quality relationships in MIWN’s priority communities.
Opportunities to learn how to lead focused conversations to help inform rapid response advocacy and action plans.
Opportunity to plan or lead a MIWN program or event. We are currently working on our Communities Make It Work campaign conducting needs assessments with two communities around low performing schools. Our organizations hopes to share the findings from the needs assessment with the community and continue to work with community stakeholders to develop interventions and actions to address outcomes from the assessments. Requirements: Must have excellent organizational and administrative skills with a demonstrated interest in organizing, advocacy, and reproductive health, rights, and justice issues.
Communicate via Signal and Google Suite programs.
Is excited to get out into the community and talk to people one on one or in groups, over the phone or in-person, about reproductive justice.

Position Description

Make It Work Nevada is a policy-driven organization that is shifting the landscape of our community through advocacy and education. Our goal is to provide administrative, planning, and policy experiences appropriate for master’s level management and community practice. Make it Work Nevada offers internship opportunities to motivated individuals with a passion for social change in Nevada this program is designed to create an immersive experience for interns in organizing policy in the Black community.
