Position Description

IndigenousAF (IAF Inc.) is a non-profit organization that supports community work that strengthens Indigenous cultures, knowledge, and identity through the arts and education. IAF Inc. raises and distributes funding that goes directly to experienced individuals and groups that plan creative art projects and fun events, which preserve cultural traditions within our beautifully diverse communities. Everyone is welcome to community programs. We at IAF want our interns to learn valuable job skills that serve both the community around them and themselves as part of the wider community. Interns will develop both personal and professional communication skills, be able to network with others in meaningful ways, and grow themselves. Anyone who spends time with us learns more about local Native American, African American, and Latinx cultures, as many of our events teach the participants about themselves and others around them. IAF Board members operate around Indigenous philosophies of reciprocity, so we want anyone who interns, volunteers, or serves with us to take away something meaningful from the experience. IAF will also help interns refine resumes, sharpen post-grad skills, and assist with job recommendations. We are aware that COLA 402 allows students to earn credit, but we also work to get our top interns stipends and future jobs when possible.
