The museum & special events intern will:
o Warehouse items
o IPM
o Accession research
o General Museum Collection duties like light housekeeping and handling requests as they come in
They will also work on some specialized projects:
Warehouse Project
Goal: Complete assessment of warehouse museum quality items
Steps:
• Inventory what is at the warehouse (name, quantity, condition, associated information)
• Cross reference what’s in the collections currently (noting on the excel sheet)
• Assembling a report of recommendations
• HOO team will then decide next actions
IPM Project
Goal: Represent climate data as whole for the collection space
Steps:
• Scan pervious years data as .csv
• Upload to eClimateNotebook and generate reports
To be Accession or not to be, that is the question
Goal: Prepare in-between items for their final destination
Steps:
• Research items from accession table (itemize, write up all relevant information)
• Present to HOO team for accession/get rid of action
They will also assist with special events.
