The engineering department intern will:
o be involved with projects from cradle-to-grave that include the planning, design, procurement, and contract administration for the maintenance and modernization of hydro-electric power assets and associated machinery.
o This position provides full lifecycle engineering support to Parker Dam, Davis Dam, and Hoover Dam. Projects vary in size and complexity; some projects require light design work, while most projects interface with Maintenance, Operations, Procurement, and require knowledge of contracting and project management principles.
o Contract work includes, but is not limited to, preparing procurement packages, which include plans, specifications, cost estimates, technical evaluations, submittal reviews, payment authorizations, and being the contracting officer’s representative on assigned projects.
o Project work includes managing assignments using all five process groups; Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitor and Control, and Closeout.
o Engineering support work includes mechanical inspections of machinery and hardware that may require confined space entry or fall restraint in areas that are difficult to access or at elevation. Walking, bending, and light lifting may be required to accomplish assignments.
