1. Understanding MADD’s Mission: Ensure the intern comprehends MADD’s mission, values, and goals related to preventing drunk driving and supporting victims.
2. Community Outreach and Education: Teach the intern how to engage with local communities, schools, and organizations to raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving.
3. Event Planning and Execution: Provide guidance on organizing events, workshops, and campaigns related to alcohol awareness, victim support, and underage prevention.
4. Data Collection and Analysis: Train the intern in collecting relevant data (e.g., statistics on impaired driving incidents) and analyzing it to inform MADD’s initiatives.
5. Advocacy and Legislative Efforts: Educate the intern about advocating for stronger DUI laws, promoting policy changes, and participating in legislative activities.
6. Volunteer Management: Teach effective volunteer recruitment, training, and coordination techniques to enhance community involvement.
7. Public Speaking and Presentation Skills: Help the intern develop confidence in delivering impactful presentations on MADD’s mission and initiatives.
8. Collaboration and Networking: Encourage the intern to build relationships with other organizations, law enforcement, and community leaders to strengthen MADD’s impact.

Position Description

MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) actively works to prevent underage drinking and impaired driving. Through education, advocacy, and community engagement, MADD aims to protect young lives and create safer roads. MADD's mission is to end drunk driving, fight drugged driving, support victims of DUI's and prevent underage drinking.
